Not sure if it’s health regulations or a bit of renovation, but the Anglican Pub will be closed for a bit. Try the Café across the street for light beverages and healthy foods.

Management is exploring creating the Convocation of Episcopalians in Nigeria… there’s probably a need there for independant thinking that we could serve. Put on your thinking caps, we’ll need to get a Bishop in there soon to start our work!

The Mangement

Hi all you thirsty Anglicans! I’ve been doing this blogging stuff for a while now, and it seems to me that a lot of the interest takes place over in comments and behind the scenes. Well, the Anglican Pub isn’t that sort of place! We want your input! We want a community effort at creation at the top level… we want writers, DJ’s, philosophers, theologians, psychologists, hacks, PhotoChoppers, dishwashers, short order cooks, barkeeps, musicians, resident priests, and slightly mad people to all be a part of the Pub… so here’s the deal, get a wordpress userid and I’ll add you to the Pub author list. In fact I’ll go so far as to give you any role you want, editor, author, administrator… hey, it’s an experiment in democratic blogging, or maybe it’ll just be chaos… that’d work too!

Now, who’ll get me a black and tan?

Okay, well we’ve booked these lads into the pub for a while… I think it’ll add a classy touch, don’t you?

And we may be able to get this guy cheap… his band just split up and this may be an opportunity to grab him, unless you all have something against folks from Hull…

What can I get you today, and what’s your thoughts on the news? I heard that up Newcastle way the priest there tried to beat some old dog. I don’t think that’s right. What, the troubles in America? I think those people are behaving very very badly. Shame really. Some row over who’s reading the Bible the right way. Damn fools if you ask me.

Oh how polite. It sounds like so much “fun” as you people call it, I believe. *sigh* - it smells like Lenten text messaging all over again.

You go to a cafe to get lunch or a coffee. You go to the pub to talk, relax and chat with friends. So while the discussion here might be a bit unintelligible at times, by tomorrow it’ll all make sense. I was going to call it Liar’s Bar as an homage to the Beautiful South (may they rise again after all their agreements are unsettled), but a pub is just *nicer* than a bar. Of course, it’ll probably be a fun and educational place. The people over there are really nice and I’ll probably have this place on the market for sale by the end of next week, but I will consider direct transfer of property to them if they’d care to open a “less polite” place! And we’d love to serve crawfish etouffée, but we need a nice southern person to cook for us. Position’s open, if you’d care to apply or have someone in mind.

Update: Well, the Pub came online a little quicker than the Café, and I must say, they have quite a list of distinguished people working on it. It looks like the sort of place that would keep dogs out though for fear of, well, you know, it’s just not healthy… but an okay place to grab a cup of coffee and listen to the speakers. Just doesn’t look like a fun place to hang out, for me.
